Dr. Maria Vassileva is a biologist and veterinary doctor. Originally from Bulgaria, she is an associate professor teaching in Nagoya University international program. Being surrounded by students and young scientists, the philosophy and politics of success is a topic she is actively engaged in. Her research interests are in the field of food and health, a field she has explored from food-poisoning bacteria to nutrition and public health. She is also actively involved in issues of health education, gender equality and everything in between – especially outreach and support for working mothers like herself.
